I was sent for an EMG/NCS because of bilateral foot pain. I am a 42 yr old white female. The Dr that did the testing was very adamant after that I see Neuromuscular Neurology and referred me. Could anyone take a peek at what the results say and give me an opinion? The tests are saying I have reduced recruitment in the L & R first dorsal interosseous. I am stuck in county Healthcare and it unfortunately takes them forever to approve referrals and make appointments. In the meantime, I am extremely scared(terrified to be honest) after looking at the little bit of information I can figure out.
This disease keeps reoccurring when I'm searching the information in these reports. I am so sorry for those out there that are or ever have been effected by this disease. My heart goes out to you.

I lost my mom last August, I am scared for myself, but so scared and worried about my husband and kids. With my mom gone, my support system is gone😭.

They are not sending you because it suggests ALS. It doesn’t. They are sending you for evaluation of hereditary peripheral neuropathies Charcot Marie Tooth is one but apparently you do not meet the criteria so they want you evaluated for others. These can be debilitating but are not fatal. From the text I gather you had family with undiagnosed symptoms?

I cannot thank you enough for replying. Ive been terrified and constantly praying(im a pray-er).

Grandfather had a NMD that I was unsure the name of. My mom could never recall. I went home and dug through records and found the diagnosis.
• Central Core Disease/Myopathy
(Recently read that Clubfoot can be associated with this, I have a L clubfoot)
•Ataxia
•Sensory Neuropathy
•Sensory Ganglionapathy
•Congenital Hereditary MD
• Malignant Hyperthermia

She had me do some weird test where I make the OK sign and then they put their finger in the open space and try to break the contact of your thumb and index finger. I couldn't maintain the contact. She said I should be able to and I was showing pincer grasp weakness. I don't normally get scared by medical stuff, but this doctor scared me with her behavior.

We have weird genetics. We came off some royal line Henry (some number). My running theory is that all their efforts to keep their bloodlines "clean" messed up our genetics.
