We had friends visit over the weekend (Saturday thru Monday) and it was a wonderful time. They helped me get Matt onto the Pontoon for a boat ride--his fourth this year using a lift on the dock.
It was an all-day effort, from having him sleep in while I cleaned and prepped the boat, to getting him into a non-split leg sling and into his chair so we could transfer him to the boat without his bottom swinging in the wind. We positioned him to swing out over the side of the boat, then had to move the boat to bring the seat to him.
Heidi went with us, and she loved being able to sit next to him and on his lap. He exhausted himself staying upright, but only let me sit next to him for support on the way home.
As soon as we got home, he went back to bed and to sleep, and he's been sleeping hard all day today. It took a lot out of him, but he felt normal for a couple of hours!!!
I posted his picture on FB, and of course everyone said how great he looks, so I had to add a comment about what that took out of him.
I thought you might like a picture of a happy man and his dog!
