I posted here around about this time a year ago and Nikki gave me a very clear and re-assuring reply which was much appreciated.

Previous thread here : Any insight appreciated...

Over the subsequent 12 months my widespread muscle fasciculations intensified despite lifestyle changes which prompted me to return to a different GP for a second opinion. She wanted me to have another EMG with the same Neurophysiologist for peace of mind.

Once again it showed mild chronic denervation in most of the muscles tested that she attributed to radiculopathy. My concern is that my original MRI was unremarkable and therefore my question is - although no active denervation was shown on the EMG can fasciculations be a sign of active denervation that coupled with widespread chronic denervation be a sign for concern. (I have attached the EMG)

I feel embarrassed coming back here as I don’t want to waste your time but doubt still remains due to the above.

Any thoughts appreciated again

No I suspect you read somewhere about fasciculation potentials and active denervation. First that is an emg finding which is different than just having twitches. Second , for other readers, there is nuance in the emg findings as there can be benign fasciculation potentials and malignant ones This is something that only an electrophysiologist can interpret. Some of them , not all, specify simple fasciculation potential for the benign ones

I hope this reassures you

Thank you again for your time Nikki. Are you saying that my EMG is still not concerning?
