Thank you for your reply Tillie.
I'll post back with my e.m.g results
I made it clear to the rhumatologist that i want to see a neuromuscular specialist recommended by motor neurones association australia .

There is one in Noosa ,sunshine coast ,Qld .( I think I read that you live in Aus so you might be familiar where that is).

You want to go to the MND Clinic at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
Dr Henderson there is one of the leading MND neurologists. Your profile says you are in Brisbane so this would be perfect for you. My husband was diagnosed by Dr Henderson.

I don't know about further up in QLD but would have been surprised if Noosa has an MND clinic.

Hey tilley .. i had a phone call from a doctor staples at the mater hospital in brisbane . He is a neurologist and specialises in e.m.gs and geriatric stuff aswell .

He said he will give me a call back during the week with a potential of me going in for a couple of nights on sunday night.

Shits getting scary now .

Will be having e.m.g and lumbar puncture.
That was surprisingly quick but im guessing due to the rhumatologists concern and my age 25 they want to get to the bottom of it with some gusto .

I shoulf be thinking positivley .
But how do people cope with with the early days of diagnosis ? Just in case.

Thanks

You take it hour by hour, day by day! That is all you can do. For us knowledge is power. It allows you to plan and prepare as best you can. Stay off Dr. Google or you will make yourself crazy.. they should be able to give you some idea of what the emg is showing immediately .

I would have thought they would send you to the MND clinic at the Royal, but hopefully this will sort your situation out. Since they have not, they may be thinking of it being something else - there are so many things that could be happening still in a young person and your symptoms still point away from ALS.

Try not to focus on what will I do if, believe me I know that's hard.

You may at least get to the bottom of it quickly, it's unusual for a hospital admission to look for MND in Australia so try to just take the next few days calmly and get to the bottom of what is happening.
