Good morning

My neurologist sent me off for a second opinion emg due to seen swallowing issues and muscle fasiculation, all that was found was ocasssional fasiculation in lower legs , and dose testing the trapezius muscle and geniglosus exclude bulbar issues.

Many thanks for any advice.

That EMG is as good as you could hope for. Please discuss the results and next steps with your doctor as the EMG is always coupled with clinical examination. Yes bulbar issues have also been covered here.
All the very best.

Cae, there should be a summary that would explain the results of the EMG. Your doctor should go over this with you and explain. It's a far better way to understand your results than surveying strangers on the internet who do not have access to your complete medical records.

Many thanks affected and shiftkicker

Here is the conclusion from report

1.no fasiculation on tongue or wastage on inspection.

All 4 limbs have no wastage and normal flexes.

No.evidence of motor neuron disease.
No evidence of generalised sensiromotor neuropathy.
No evidence of lumbrsacal neuropathy.

Mild ulnar nerve dysfunction at the elbow on right hand side.
Mild severity dysfunction at elbow on left hand side.

Fasiculation seen on emg test on the tibialius anterior and gastrocemius muscles

Possible bfs for the emg testing

I do not like asking for advice off you very brave people, but the neurologist has been a bit vague

My clinical work up was ok , he sent me for second emg due to swallowing issues for last 12 months.

Can ulnar nerve dysfunction turn into mnd.

All the very best.

There is nothing vague about this. Ulnar nerve dysfunction is an extremely common overuse injury and can benefit from simple exercise, changing your computer setup, not resting on your elbows, etc. It is as far from MND as you can get. This EMG shows benign fasciculations, nothing more. There is no tendency, trend or warning sign of MND.

There is nothing more to be gained by your being here. I am closing this thread. Please do not start another. If you cannot accept this wonderful news, it is time to seek counseling for health anxiety.

Best,
Laurie
