Help!
In the last week we have had visits by our GP, hospice nurse and palliative care specialist. ( she's head of palliative care in our large regional hospital that is 1 hour away.)
We do feel very special that we have so many people helping us!
The problem is, all of them finally get around...
I don't mean to be morose, but this is something I know only bits and pieces about. Not to offend anyone, but my greatest fear is losing control of my extremities and not being able to move. I want to die of respiratory failure long before that time comes. My respiration three weeks ago was...
Rantish first post: I have heriditary neuralgic amyotrophy (Parsonage-Turner). My father, Grandmother, Grandmother's brothers, great grandmother-all had this. My father's first cousin recently died of respiratory failure secondary to the disease.
Absolutely no one treats it or has any interest...

Hi everyone,
My mom was diagnosed with ALS on Dec, 2015. on Feb 2, 2016, she fainted & doc's later told us that she now has type 2 respiratory failure.
We was not prepared for such quick progression of the illness. She has been operated & now has a tracheostomy tube inside her trachea, with...

Hi everyone. Things are gong down hill at a rapid pace. Today hospice had the SW come in for the "talk". My father's bowels appear to not be working and he is constantly constipated. Nothing they have done has resolved the issue and they won't do anything more "aggressive" than an enema...
First I appreciate your message to newcomers there sure is alot of misleading information on the net. Second I'm not really asking if I have ALS, as I have been told 3 times I do and now find myself at one of the leading ALS centers in the south, I have had 3 emgs first neuro said it was...
