    Muscle biopsy

My husband's neurologist wants to do a muscle biopsy on his thigh. He is scheduled for bloodwork and a thigh MRI on Monday. We have a "probable" diagnosis of ALS. The doctor even said he is just trying to go to great lengths to make sure it is not something else. The extensive EMG was very...

Well, my "diagnostic merry-go-round" thread was closed, but I did want to report back on my diagnostic journeys. Just left a new neurologist who did EMG on my legs and said NO ALS! {exhale!} He is referring me to Dr. Harati in Houston. He said that in my area, there is nobody to conduct and...

    2 years and still kicking

I came to this site two years ago with a jacked up EMG with diffuse Fibs and PSW and fasiculations. I was convinced based on the clinical information that I had ALS, but I am still here and my condition is still around with no change. I was supposed to have a muscle biopsy but could not afford...

    had my biopsy

Well, I had my muscle biopsy on Friday. So far, so good. It definitely hurts more than I thought it would, but I'm doing better today than I was yesterday. In a few days I'm sure I will be fine. Luckily I was sedated, like you would be for a colonoscopy or something like that. No stitches...
