    Mom is free!

    My mother, Norma Herrington, died this morning. Her battle with this horrible monster is done. She slipped away peacefully after an all night vigil of morphine every hour. She was in a coma and had no pain or struggle at all. We are numb right now but thankful she is no longer suffering.

    My mother, bless her heart, is beginning to leave us. The hospice nurse told us today that her feet are swelling and her urine is darkening. She has been doing what I call puff breathing. They have told us we can give her morphine every two hours now. We can hear her breathing through the walls...
