Struggling but trying to be realistic

I have talked myself out of posting here 100 times. I have read all the stickies and am well aware of what they are saying and am trying to wrap my head around believing them. With that being said here is what is going on with me 33 yr old female with a precious 1 year old girl. 6 mos ago I...

    Medicare Advantage changes

Since Medicare open enrollment is happening through December 7, just a quick note on some 2019 changes that could affect your decisions. It is always worth looking at what you have vs. the competition every year. Not all counties have MA plans available if you are <65 or at all, but many do...

    Access to Published Papers

Looks like we are denied access to most published papers. Since it seems that a number of these papers are the result of grants from the ALS Association/Foundation I think those of us with ALS should have free access and not be required to pay the exorbitant prices to get a research paper.

    Tablet rolling floor stand

Older version (uses four little bungie cords instead of clamps) of the non-powered LEVO G2 Deluxe Tablet Stand free to a good home. Works well for tablet use (with a mouthstick, fingers, voice control, etc.) in a bed, wheelchair, lift chair, sofa, or in class. Very stable, weighted base. Pick up...

    Voice Access App for Android

I came across an blog post about the Voice Access app for Android. I downloaded it and tried it out on my Samsung tablet. It's very easy to use and would really help PALS who cannot use their hands, but still can use their voice (like my DH). I'd add the link, but I know that can sometimes...

    Permobil vs Quantum power wheelchairs

I posted recently with questions regarding the Permobil F3 (I’m currently borrowing one from my loaner closet and like it so far). That previous thread is here: https://www.alsforums.com/forum/general-discussion-about-als-mnd/42619-question-you-wheelchair-geeks.html I did receive a gift of a...

    Steve's flying free

I have shared so much here over the years that I feel that this part of journey should be shared here before anyone or anywhere else. I hope that this helps a CAL somewhere. Steve was very anxious last night and today about the mask coming off and his breathing. He was fighting the meds meant...
