Hi, my mother has been coughing a lot and I wanted to know if other people experience the same problem. Most of the coughs are from an itchy throat but her symptoms are also progressing rapidly. My mother can’t walk or use her arms and her speech is almost gone. I don’t think the itchy throat...

any comments?
i think that having ALS is a kind of license to do everything with ourselves, so why dont we try? i am the first one to try.
I'm curious as to how this starts. My reading talks about coughing and swallowing (going down wrong tube) issues. I have the feeling of a bit of a "ball" that things need to get around as I swallow. That's the only way I can describe it. Can someone give any kind of comment to that feeling?
I use thickened liquids by mouth and my tube for most of my liquids, but there are some that I enjoy thin and still indulge in, like a daily cup of tea or coffee. Plus there is always saliva in my mouth, and sometimes I choke pretty hard on my own saliva.

2 Months ago, I developed knee pain, and foot stabbing. It felt like electricity I think. I thought I had bone cancer. I was stressing out about it. It got better with movement, and I forgot about it for a week - I really dont think...
