    I have been there for several years now. My wife and caregivers do it and it seems to work okay. It was a transition having to let them do it because I can't. It has worked out okay.

    Gas Pains and Vomiting

    We use a syringe with the plunger taken out so it is like a funnel. Then there is a paper towel held over the top and the PEG is opened up so the gas can escape. It works fantastically well to get rid of the gas. The Bipap may make it worse because there is a tendency to swallow air.

    Re: symptom progression I don't know what it might be but it is not ALS. All we can do is tell you it isn't ALS, we are not doctors so can't diagnose you. Sorry. Trust your doctor.

    crqmping and spasm

    As far as cramps go - I am fortunate to live in Canada because we can get Quinine which really works. I want to also say for you to enjoy them because when you stop experiencing them you will not be moving as there is no muscle left.
