Thanks for the update. I finally saw a neuro this week. He seemed more interested in my sleep jerks than my twitching. He said it could be fatigue/stress or maybe a subtle form of epilepsy (my dad has a history with seizures). I'm getting an EEG in April. I asked about als and, after some...

Hi, just writing back to see if you ever got the EMG results. I'm pushing myself to schedule a visit to the neuro. I developed a new sense of weakness (or maybe stiffness) in my right knee. It could be because I tried an semi-intense workout last week, but I don't know. I can still walk OK and...

Hi. I hope it's ok that I write to you here. I read your post and saw that we share some symptoms. I have twitching all over my body, but mostly in legs. Also, I used to get night sweats in the beginning (not so much anymore) and now I have nightly hypnic jerks. Do you think your symptoms were...

Very happy for you! Must be a big weight off your shoulders. It's also very pleasant news for me (though I understand it's not the same as me seeing a neuro in-person). I get you about the thumb. I keep thinking my right arm is relatively weaker, and that my walk is a little labored, but these...

Wishing you the best. More often than not, these things don't turn out as bad as we make it out to be. I applaud the fact that you're seeing a neuro. Obviously you don't have to tell me anything. But keep me posted if you'd like (I'd be glad to hear). My twitching feels better today. I can't...

I saw my GP once, near the beginning of the symptoms, but he chalked it up to anxiety and stress because I was dealing with my mom's new cancer diagnosis (and he might be right). I'm planning on making a new appointment if things don't improve next week. My twitching is much more generalized...

Hi Jay. Sorry if this is intrusive. But I wanted to reach out because your initial symptoms sound very much like mine. At the beginning of January the arch of my left foot started twitching non-stop. It felt cyclical in when the episodes would happen. After a couple weeks it spread through my...

Twitching (& hyperreflexia?) after my mom's cancer diagnosis

Thank you for reading and responding Laurie. I really appreciate it. I've been trying some meditation and yoga, but not regularly enough, I feel. I plan on getting out more. Perhaps do some easy hikes. Either way i need to do a better job of handling the stress.

Twitching (& hyperreflexia?) after my mom's cancer diagnosis

At the beginning of this year, my mom's doctors told her she likely had advance stage cancer. I didn't take the news well, of course. I wasn't sleeping, and I was crying on and off. It was a truly traumatic experience. I started developing body symptoms the same week I got the news: - It...
