    Just had my 5th EMG

Thank you for the response. I just worry that I may have done the EMGs too early, or they missed something, or maybe ALS doesn't show on an EMG unless you have clinical weakness. I just hope these doctors are right. I know it's highly unlikely 4 of them would be wrong, especially an ALS specialist.

    Just had my 5th EMG

Hi, I used to post on this forum back in October when my symptoms first started. I am still having symptoms, including twitching, muscle pain and fatigue, as well as some occasional cramping. Since then I have had 5 EMGs, all of which came back normal. I had two done by my regular neurologist in...

    Question about living situation

Kim I still have a lot of symptoms. Hoping this doctor is right. I'm gonna see one more to be sure. Is a negative EMG pretty accurate?

So I saw another neurologist today. He did physical exam, EMG, and nerve conduction test and said that I passed them all and don't have ALS. Should I be relieved? Are these tests usually accurate? I asked him several times and he kept saying he was sure. But yet I still have symptoms.

    Question about living situation

So right now I'm currently renting, living alone, still functional and working. A house is available next door to my mother. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to move there, that way family could help me if needed, rather than just moving in with my mom. I know I most likely won't live...

Where can people like us live? I can't see myself moving back in with my mom. Is there like a nursing home type option. I don't want her to have to take care of me.

Newly Diagnosed (Day 2). I have a daughter and pregnant wife. We are devastated. Need help.

I'm new also. Look into these new medications that are coming out hopefully next year: Nurown, CuATSM, and AMX0035. They've been proven to stop or at the very least slow the progression, some patients have even improved and regained functions. My only hope is that I'll still be somewhat okay a...

Anybody else feel like they can't sit still? I feel like I have to constantly pace around the house and if I'm sitting I have the urge to rock back and forth. When I'm sitting still I just feel uncomfortable. Can't relax! Also if you lose a function or get weak with this does anything ever come...

I'm new to this. I am absolutely devastated and so scared. I haven't slept in days. Barely eating. I guess all I'm asking is what happens now? I'm 36, I have 3 kids, I work and live alone. Should I quit my job? Abandon my apartment and move back in with my parents? How do I tell this news to my...
