Heyy, I am in the same boat as you are. No pain, numbness, tingling, or clawing, but I have severe twitching in my hand muscles and arm, and then developed clinical weakness. But according to EMG - cubital tunnel. Motor only, sensory NCS was fine. And denervation on the needle part. Was your...

That's a bit different from mine. At rest there's almost nothing, if I flex it will twitch until I stop flexing. I guess an EMG would show if you have an injury. And yeah I'd feel a lot better if twitching was widespread but oh well.

ALS specialist's opinion on my localized twitching

This is my previous post which is not open for replies but I thought I'd share my diagnosis up to date cos it might be interesting for concerned people reading this subforum. https://www.alsforums.com/community/threads/localized-hand-twitching-mild-weakness.45497/page-2 After having mild...

Hey, I've had localized twitching in 4 hand muscles for 8 months, no previous trauma. Slightly dirty EMG in these muscles. Is yours at rest? Mine is only when I flex. Seen an ALS specialist. He said you can have very localized BFS though I have not read a single case of such localized twitching...

Weird thing I am having atrophy+twitching in a median muscle but it's clean on EMG. Did they offer you any alt. diagnosis besides neuropathy? I am scared that I am heading in the same direction as you with symptoms. Your thread is active, do you think you'd ask the mods if there've been any ALS...

Ok, so with the hands we seem to have something similar. I also have no symptoms of neuropathy, just a slightly lowed motor NCS and the same needle EMG as you. And it looks like the docs interpreted it the same way with cubital. But in your case it doesn't explain the rest. It's weird your EMG...

High amp mups mean the chronic denervation is at least 2-3 months old. Yes, read all the EMG manuals. Was your NCS normal? And you also have no ulnar pain and your hands twitch?

I had 2 EMGs with 4 months in between, both with chronic denervation. Seen your thread with the EMG, same things as mine with -IP and + amps, etc. I had no EMG fascics tho. My other nerves also fine so far. So if ulnar nerve is the only dx you now have EMG in other areas had no nerve damage?

Similar situation. Started with hand twitching (not widespread) now 24/7. First dx BFS despite chronic denervation in all twitching muscles. Confirmed atrophy followed by weakness in the hand. Second DX of ulnar nerve irritation. If you had more than one EMG how apart in time were these? Was...

    Localized hand twitching, mild weakness?

Could I please ask one more question regarding the ALS pattern on EMG? Is it impossible to have chronic changes (reduced recruitment, incomplete interference pattern in the symptomatic muscle) show on the EMG first without any acute findings? I mean, can it happen that the first EMG finds only...
