    low dose naltrexone

LDN is a very useful therapy for autoimmune diseases like MS, Crohn's, etc. or diseases with an autoimmune component. ALS is not an autoimmune disease so it hasn't been useful for ALS. It is definitely NOT a scam. It just is not effective for ALS unfortunately. For MS it is probably the best...

    New Lithium based therapy announced

Lithium carbonate in the States is very cheap for 150mg pills: Good luck getting a script for it. I've read on the forum some PALS have been having problems getting a script from their neuros. Bloody outrageous if you ask me.

    New Lithium based therapy announced

Hi Jeff, I was wondering why you opted for the lithium orotate rather than the carbonate as used in the study.... also are you being monitored for blood lithium levels to be 0.4 mg/L as mentioned in the study? I know it is natural to be skeptical about this, but if I'm not mistaken it was...

    tcm hospital

Thanks for the support guys. Just to clarify, the hospital treats ALS patients using traditional chinese medicine techniques, not to be confused with the one that injects stem cells. I need to have something to cling onto, and at least say I gave it a shot. If I was older with mature kids I doubt I would...

    Some light hearted seasonal fun!

Oh yeah I agree.. I love this time of year. Unlike most of you guys, Christmas in Australia is all about the sun and outdoor BBQ get togethers. If Santa was down here, I think he'd be wearing a singlet, shorts, sandals and sunglasses... wishing everyone a happy and loving festive season :)

    Young ALSers

Hi guys, Just wondering if there are any young ALSers (20's) using the forum. I know there are people in their 20's here that think they may have ALS because they twitch, but are there any actual diagnosed young people... Just want to know whether I'm all alone in this. Thanks...

    muscle wasting

To mamaoftwo See my posts in a recent thread entitled "I think i have als". I am disheartened by the pace of this thing, I am getting weaker on a daily basis, and the widespread twitching is unrelenting. From reading previous postings, my situation is quite similar to Chad Bowman, a previous...

    muscle wasting

I only noticed it when the twitching recently spread to my forearms, my forearms don't look too wasted yet. With the wrist atrophy, I still have fully functional hands at this stage, do you guys?
