Hope this is appropriate. Certainly gives me hope :) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7463606.stm

    God Bless Your Beautiful Soul

My beautiful, beloved Mam passed on at home in the early hours of May 19th 2008. She is and will always remain the centre of my universe and I will love and miss her every day until we meet again. I'm sure she is with us still, but if not, we will be together again some day I'm sure. Life will...

    Morphine and Diamorphine

Is there a difference between these drugs? I've googled them and some sites say diamorphine is 'heroin' and twice as strong as morphine, while others seem to make no distinction, and thats its merely the 'injectable' form. We had some supplied in case of 'emergancy' so I'm guessing its the...

    Drip

My Mother went to see a gastroenterologist a few months ago and he said that as she was eating a little, then she could put off having the PEG. The neuro came to see us a few weeks ago and when we made enquiries, he said he wouldn't recommend it as she may not make it through. According to...

    Anything out of the ordinary?

Hi I've included some of the medical reports on my Mother - can anyone tell me if theres anything here that suggests anything OTHER than MND, or if it all fits the Diagnosis? Aplogies for the lengthy post, but there'll be no more like this :) Steve June 12 – Gp - On examination I could find...

    Something for the future perhaps

New blood tests hopefully being developed in the next few years, the most interesting part is that 'those with one set of genetic mutations are 2000 times more likely to get ALS' . http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/thehealthnews.html?in_article_id=508459&in_page_id=1797

    Lifting

We've recently been having difficulties lifting my Mother off her chair without causing her discomfort. We've been given a lifting belt to go around her waist, but it slips if we leave it loose and it hurts her if we tighten it. Are there any 'belts' that have straps over the shoulders too, like...
