Ocean VIP Tilt Shower Chair/Commode Question

My husband and I recently renovated our bathroom and have the toilet set at 19 inches, which I think may be too low for him. We purchased the Ocean VIP Tilt shower chair and commode, and I’m wondering, do any of you have experience with it? Is it easy to use the toilet if you roll the chair over...

    Accessible Bathrooms

That was very helpful, Jrzygrl! Thank you for the pictures. I have the same question for you that I had for Kim- Is it hard to make the turn to get your PALS onto the toilet (for example, if you are using a hoyer lift)? We are trying to figure out whether we should position our toilet in a...

    Accessible Bathrooms

Hi Kim! Thank you for the pictures! Do you have any issues making the left turn with your PALS to get to the toilet? Someone mentioned that’s it’s easier to operate a Hoyle lift to get to the toilet when you have no turns and just a straight shot to the bathroom.

    Cortisone shots pre-diagnosis?

Hi All, A friend of mine, who is caring for her sister that has ALS, was wondering if you (if you have ALS) or your PALS (if you are a caregiver) ever received cortisone shots in your spine pre-ALS diagnosis? My husband, who has ALS, did get multiple shots, and we are fairly certain that there...

Hi AKNate, There was a combination of factors that led to our decision. We want to have children, and it is not recommended that you try to have kids after participating in this study, so this gives us more time to try and also bank some sperm. We also have a lot going on in our lives right now...

Update: We decided not to participate in the study this month, but will likely participate early next year. We will keep you all posted.

You are correct- there is no placebo. They treat one leg (the specific side unbeknownst to us). I'm not sure if we'll be able to share anything, but I'll find out if we can. We'll most likely have our decision made by the end of this weekend.
