Just realised I replied twice to the same post! This forum confuses me sometimes! Hi Anne, my mum has been on the forum, but she finds it a bit confusing (and even I do at times!) so for now she is just going to browse I think! When I am back home from uni for good in a month or so I can sit...

Thanks Dalvin, I had a look at some websites for her and she seemed interested in them and would like to have a go :) we also has a new TV delivered the other day, so I downloaded some episodes of her favourite programmes so she can access them through the TV whenever she wants, think she's...

Progression Worries :( and boredom suggestions

Her hands are okay, she can still write fine which is good, just holding things like her phone can be tricky sometimes! But I didn't know you could do the puzzles online so that's a good idea :) think I will get her a puzzle book so she can sit outside and then when it's raining she can go online!

Aww they sound interesting - i'm going to take a look! I've been at university 4 years now and over those 4 years we've spoken about using Skype hundreds of times but we have never got round to it! Progression Worries :( and boredom suggestions

We try our best but it is hard to be around her all the time, especially when I am at home on my own with her. She is getting a walker soon so she can use that around to house to steady her, should be here tomorrow!

She has tried to use the internet as much as possible and bought an iPad...

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Tillie, I hope you are well. It is very distressing, I am currently at university and find it hard not being around, but my parents are encouraging me to finish. Audio books are a good idea, thank you! I had not thought of that one! I know she will be...

Progression Worries :( and boredom suggestions

Hi everyone, I am worried about my mums progression and just wanted some answers to prepare myself. My mum began having slurred speech in July 2013. Since then it has progressed and she now cannot speak apart from simple words like yes or no, but even then it can be hard to understand. She...

I'm 21 and my mum may have ALS :(

Thanks for your reply Anne. It's hard for me to do much with her as I'm at university, I will see her at Christmas and she's coming to stay with me in a week, so i'm just trying to look forward to that for now! I try and speak to her as often as I can but it's getting harder as it can be...
