    Non-VA Benefits?

My wife and I are both over 65 and take SS. We also care for her mother, 95 and Parkinsons, and lives with us. My wife has developed seizures in the last two months and is not well, pretty much confined to the house as these seizures render her unresponsive for as much as 3 hours. I am still...

    dumb question

3 weeks ago I had an extensive clinic year to year evaluation and they said, and I reported here, I was progressing very slowly. Since then things have gone to pot in a hurry. I know there will be ups and downs so it isn't that. I seem to have caught the flu or something with its related ache...

    Whoo Hooo!

Day long 1st anniversary clinic/team visit yesterday and I'm progressing but they tell me only very slowly. I feel bad for announcing that and it is very selfish for me to do so - I'm sure you understand that I have zero intent to do the "wow..so lucky" thing and it can be offensive and would...

    End Game - some thoughts

I started symptons 5 months ago and am now in an ALS clinic at Columbia Presbyterian. Good place. Good docs. I've read a lot about the "end game" issues. I'm fully aware that then last few months are a pisser to say the least. I'm not in denial but my feeling is that the end stages for...

    Twixt and Tween

I was referred into the Lou Gehrig Institute at Columbia Presbyterian about 2 months ago. Based on their findings, my case has gone from my local neurologist to them for the duration. My EMG came back not in my favor although as I have Type II diabetic neuropathy, there seems to be a pile of...
