    update

Wow, I didn't even think of DDD as possible to explain my symptoms (I have a post on this board as well) but now that I think about it, my biological father has a DDD that has kept him out of work for years...and he says it's genetic. I would ask him about it but we don't speak due to familial...

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

Upon looking in the mirror, I can see tiny little flickers of movement on my tongue in the general areas I feel the tingling. This is worrisome.

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

Sounds like a fair assessment of weakness. The thing is that I had twitches months before the shakiness of the legs or anything. Both have progressively gotten worse to this point. I just assumed that was weakness. Also I've started having a tingling sensation on my tongue. Not all over it...

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

I just came back to say that my blood work came back, everything completely normal (thyroid, cholesterol, cell counts, the works). This kind of scares me as I was hoping for some easy explanation for my symptoms (thyroid, etc.). Now I'm probably even more worried than before. Ah well. Thanks for...

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

Thank you for your kind words and consideration. I'm actually praying that I have hypothyroidism so that all of my questions can be answered and I can stop worrying. I do have many symptoms of it, though not all of them (I don't have hair loss or swelling in the legs or a goiter, etc.), but...

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

I guess the main reason I feel I have weakness is that my arms are shaky when I lift things, my legs are shaky when I stand, my abdominal muscles are shaky when I get up out of bed, etc. I've heard it described as a "ratcheting" effect. Though I will definitely agree I also have fatigue.

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

Well thanks, I definitely appreciate that. The only thing that makes me shy away from fibro/CFS/BFS is the fact that my symptoms have been getting progressively worse/I've had new symptoms appear over the years. As far as I understand it, these things generally aren't progressive. I guess I'll...

Years of symptoms...does this sound like ALS progression?

Thank you for your well thought out response. These are definitely a lot of things to look into, and I believe in my blood work was a test for anemia and also a B12 check (maybe). I will find out next time I go to the doctor. The vision loss seems to be mostly low light vision. I do fine (still...
