    Thick mucous/phlegm

I have bulbar ALS and have been noticing that I get thick mucous that feels like it sits at the back if my tongue/throat. It seems to be worsening. Is this typical as the muscles in the mouth weaken?

    ALS2 Gene

I had genetic testing and showed a variant on ALS2 gene. My neurologist doesn't think this variant is playing a role in my disease, since it is usually shown in juvenile als. Does anyone know anything about this gene?

    Newly diagnosed Social Security Denied

Is it Normal, to feel Normal?

I am just wondering....is it normal, early on in the disease to feel, well, normal? Somedays I get up and feel so normal (except of course for my slurring) and have to stop and ask myself, do I really have ALS? I guess I don't know what to feel, or expect. I am just sort of grateful, that I...

    Waiting for a Diagnosis

My name is Kelly and I am 47 years old. My father passed away from bulbar onset ALS in February 2012, after a 4 month battle. About a year ago, I began noticing slight slurring of my words. It wasn't all the time, so I dismissed it. About Jan or Feb of 2016 I began noticing that my...
