    Emg/nvc

I was told by a neuro that NCV (you meant NCV - Nerve Conduction Velocity, not NVC ?) is to rule out other conditions. With ALS, NCV would be normal, or almost normal.

    EMG stats

This discussion is in the wrong forum, it should've been "Do I have ALS ?" May be I clicked on a wrong link when I was creating this forum. Thanks JennB329 for your answer. Was your dad's first EMG done by an ALS specialist ?

    EMG stats

I know that, in some rare cases, folks here had their first EMG normal, but later were diagnoseded with a MND/ALS. In these cases, the first EMG was apparently done by a local neuro, not by an MND specialist. Are the following statements correct: 1. Nobody here has been diagnoseded with an MND...

dilemma: should I prepare my husband for the worst?

Finger tapping rate revisited Just wanted to update on the finger tapping issue. My dominant hand is now, on average, 21% faster that the non-dominant. This is a very large difference, and it grew somewhat over the last 2 years. But all other UMN symptoms I had had regressed, pretty much...

    Antidepressants and ALS symptoms

Well, my question was: in the last 4.5 years I had an attack of various UMN symptoms that seemed to peak in 2006-2007, accompanied by mild LMN symptoms most of which are still there. Could taking Prosac in 2003 for a few weeks, and then quitting, be a cause ? I doubt it, but wanted to hear...

    Antidepressants and ALS symptoms

As I found in my medical records, I was prescribed Prozac for mild depression in April 2003. I remember that I was taking it for a few weeks, and then stopped as it did not seem to help. I think it was approximately end of 2003 or 2004 when I felt that my left arm was weird and clumsy. I had...
