    Tips for Hosting a Friend with ALS

    Personally my biggest issues that tend to keep me from leaving the house are.. Hand rails on all stairs and Toilets that are chair height ( 17+ in.) c/w hand rails. ( I rarely leave the house these days :( ) Most Hospitals and Restaurants don't even meet these (my) requirements. :'(

    I have a new drinking problem

    I can drink beer out of a pilsener glass.. Out of the bottle results in a very wet shirt.. ;-) Also have to use a twist top bottle opener as there is no hope for my bare hand to open it. Other thing I have an issue with these days is a bic. lighter with the child guard still on it.

    Trouble getting Riluzole

    I read the clinical trials and stopped taking it after a couple of months even though it's 100% covered under my plan. It was also reeking havoc with my liver. (Diag. 2007) Still up and about (Slowly and carefully)
