Hi Mary,
I'm sad to hear of your great loss. I think your Dad knew any impatience or frusteration while you were his caretaker was directed at this terrible disease and the situations it creates, and was not aimed at him personally. Being with him through the stages of ALS and never giving up...
Thanks,
It's been a very long and frusterating road to get here. My Mom actually expressed a bit of relief in getting the news. Not knowing is sometimes worse than anything.
Heck, she may actually grace our presence here sometime in the future. (Mom, if you're reading this, don't be shy :) )...
My Mom recently had her 2nd EMG, very thorough and lasted over two hours. She described it as uncomfortable, but not painful. The description of the procedure seems scarier than the test itself. I know it's easier said than done, but being relaxed is critical to getting accurate results from the...
We found the remote control deadbolt at a site called tobuyasafe.com (they sell safes and such). I was surprised that neither Home Depot or Lowes sell them. I'm sure they can be found elswhere on the web also. Easy install, paid for itself in a week due to the convinience factor.

Lift recliner chair. - It looks like any la-z-boy type recliner, but has a control pad...

But would be nice to get them posted within hours of submission, or suggest a fix if there is a issue on my end...
We received my Moms firm ALS diagnosis today. We appreciated the cander of the Neuro, she did not beat around the bush, or try to string us along with more tests that weren't necessary. My Mom has been referred to an ALS specialist who will determine next steps from there. We are digesting the...
