    I recieved a letter from VA today stating your claim for PLS also called Lou Gehrig disease has been approved rate 100%.I don't know if the VA neuro changed the diagnosed but if he did he didn't tell me. So there is hope for those with a PLS diagnosed. Billy

    Anyone in US receiving SSDI ?

    Yes it was for PLS I called Social Security and told them of my diagnosed and they made me a appointment to come in. I took the paperwork my neuro had filled out for my employer. May be it was what neuro said in his report. I didn't get medicare for 2 years because it was PLS not ALS. Billy

    I was approved on first try and had the decision in 4 months. I had to wait the 5 month deferal for 1st check and didn't get medicare until 2 years from 1st check. Billy

    Olly, I can walk a little but have to hold on to things.It is mostly just from my chair into bathroom or from my carrier to the door of my van. I can also tell that my arms are weaker because i can' lift things like i used to do. Thanks for the reply. Billy
