    Slurred Speech.

Bulbar Since my mom has been diagnosed I have read and heard the terms "bulbar onset", "bulbar symptoms", and I think as someone said earlier, if it starts with bulbar, then progresses it is referred to as bulbar onset, if it doesn't progress maybe then it is bulbar ALS.

    Monkey update

Hey Monkey, My mom's in the "waiting game" too. Two neuros said yes and one said no. So she's decided to say she has a disease with no title! Best of luck to you with the ALS center. I really do have faith that they know, more than anyone, who does or does not have ALS. That will be mom's...

Hi Raina, This site has been a God=send to me and I hope it will be for you as well! My mom has had bulbar symptoms for 3-5 months now and has one diagnosed of ALS and one diagnosed of "I don't think so". So she has decided to live with this disease "without a name". Reading this thread was...

Statin Drugs Found To Accelerate Als

Perhaps statistically it's not on the increase. I had only heard of ALS because of Lou Gehrig and right now I work with 3 other people whose mom, sis, and dad have all had it. It just seemed unusual to me. Some of the info I was reading about statins is that there have been reports of it...

Statin Drugs Found To Accelerate Als

Statins ALS seems to be more prevalent these days and there has to be a reason for this. Physicians are going to nay-say this report but as soon as I saw it my mom stopped her statin drug (besides it was causing her diahrrea and she can't afford any more weightloss). The ALS center Dr. I...
