Thanks all. I will talk with my family doc, and then see the neuro feb.29th. Been moving knees and legs more, seems to help. Swelling still there, and hubby thinks my knees swell too. I hate this disease.
I searched but couldn't really find anything on this. Diagnosed Aug and Nov 2011, All lower motor, no signs of upper. I heard PMA is slow progression - don't believe it as I can only manage few steps with walker -usually transfering. Feet swell horribly, sometimes turn red and purple...but...
Notme: Neuro who saw me at local hospital wasn't ALS specialist..but when he looked at my medical records, saw I'm going to Hopkins he didn't challenge their diagnois. If sitting I could raise my legs, wiggle toes etc... stand me up and they couldn't support my weight - which they had been...
I'm a scrapbooker too. hands and fingers move, but can't cut or write clearly... This upsetted me since I have years of pixs not scrapbooked. Use to go to scrapbook night. As a surprise the whole group I scraped with, with the help of my daughter-in-law came to my house...used my mountain...
Thanks Notme and Kitchener. I'm 57...and I would consider this fast. Within a year I'm mainly on scooter and very little walking with walker - mainly bathroom trips. Legs, arms, trunk all effected. About neck I'm fine. I will ask neuro on my Feb. appt.
Hi. I was diagnosed with ALS Aug. 2011 by ALS doc. Had second opinion at Hopkins- they diagnosed with PMA form of ALS in Nov. Clinic appt in March, but have a Feb. appt. with neuro at Hopkins. Started in trunk.. legs. By July hands, fingers, and arms. Every muscle from neck down.. but no...
