27 Male, EMG "normal", MRI "normal", similar to Gusflower's

+1. Stand up for yourself. Unreal how certain chronic posters here -- and there is no better word for them -- have made it their primary mission to try to discredit/argue every detail of someone else's life....a life they know absolutely nothing about. Misplaced anger is all I can think of...

The Weakness Issue - Final Verdict?

You are dead right. You only become clinically weak if you have a very small muscle affected first, or your larger muscles have been dying for a long time. So yes, many people have "perceived" (yet very real) weakness before they are diagnosed and before they fail any clinical test.

BFS or ALS? A must read if you twitch!

Unfortunately, ALL of this is horribly, dead wrong. Please check your facts with experts before posting.

    waiting to see a neurologist

You're ignoring the point. Why do you insist on claiming that twitching is a late-stage symptom in ALS, when nothing exists to support the assertion? I'll call out claims that are false every time I see them.

    waiting to see a neurologist

Twitching is not a late symptom. Where did this myth come from? It gets repeated over and over again in this forum. In the vast majority of eventual ALS patients, twitching is one of the earliest symptoms. Ask any ALS specialist, or better yet, read ALSA's "Initial Symptoms of the Disease"...

    Just a few questions

Someone should save this thread as a classic example of what happens in this sub-forum when someone undiagnosed dares to pose a few questions. The troops gather and sling arrows at the poster. They tell the poster to go away. They start asking the poster aggressive questions of their own...
