    finally... freedom

    My deepest sympathy to you and your family. My DH/PAL was diagnosed in Oct. 2005 and died on Dec. 29, 2007. Your dear Mom went even faster.....such an awful disease.....but they are now at peace and suffer no more...for that we can be grateful. Marlene

    I know how you feel, Paty about this forum. I didn't find it soon enough but it did help me for the short time I had Don with me. Our husbands died so close together - Dec. 29th and Dec. 30th. As you can see I am still checking in. Only those of us who were and are CALS really understand...

    Since my darling dh/PAL died on Dec. 29th I have gone through the gamit of emotions from "how could this happen?" to "now he won't suffer anymore"......All the time I feel like crying inside if not on the outside but, you know, I've felt that way for a long time. Seeing him get progressiviely...

    My dad is gone

    I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband/PAL died Dec. 29th after two years fighting ALS. No matter how quickly or how long the disease progresses it is always both a shock and a comfort. We are never prepared but we know that our loved one is no longer suffering.
