Hi Jonsie,

It’s scary but good to know there are others out there. Have you had a doctor’s appointment? My twitching started in both feet.

I saw my GP once, near the beginning of the symptoms, but he chalked it up to anxiety and stress because I was dealing with my mom's new cancer diagnosis (and he might be right). I'm planning on making a new appointment if things don't improve next week. My twitching is much more generalized now, in terms of both location and and timing. I feel it happens more when I'm tired, so maybe it's just fatigue/exhaustion.

I’m at a low point with twitching as well right now. I’m seeing a neurologist tomorrow though. The best thing we can do, is wait, put ourselves in the hands of the experts, hope for the best, and accept whatever diagnosis we receive. I might have damaged the nerves in my feet due to wearing the wrong shoes, which set off anxiety and so on.

Wishing you the best. More often than not, these things don't turn out as bad as we make it out to be. I applaud the fact that you're seeing a neuro. Obviously you don't have to tell me anything. But keep me posted if you'd like (I'd be glad to hear). My twitching feels better today. I can't tell if it's cause I just don't care as much about it (and thus don't feel it as much) or if it's really lessening.

I’m happy to share that the neuro was very unconcerned. She basically reiterated what everyone has been saying: twitching without weakness is almost always benign. She said she’s diagnosed ALS and this is not ALS. I’m very encouraged atm. She ordered an EMG just to calm my nerves (lol). I’ve been perceiving finger weakness this week. After her reassurance, I don’t feel it as much and suspect that it was just overuse.

Very happy for you! Must be a big weight off your shoulders. It's also very pleasant news for me (though I understand it's not the same as me seeing a neuro in-person). I get you about the thumb. I keep thinking my right arm is relatively weaker, and that my walk is a little labored, but these things go away when I simply stop monitoring my body so much haha.
