Had a full body EMG at end of July which was surprisingly all normal but my symptoms persisted and has progressed. I don't have any true cramps, but my throat and tongue feel constant stiffness/strain as if I am being choked by my own muscle, and swallow feels weak. I went from 57kg to 54kg in the last three weeks which is terrifying. Probably will get an EMG a few weeks to see what is going on.

Hi,
Sorry to here your are in a similar situation.
Unfortunately for me things have progressed. Loosing use of my hands left and legs, and all muscles have gone quite flaccid with lots of weakness really evident.
In quite a bit of pain as well.
Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Hi, sorry to hear that you are still progressing, it really sucks to see our own body failing bit by bit... I got hospitalized a few days to get checked out fully... I still got all my symptoms but my swallowing and breathing are getting worse, and tongue is atrophying on the edge and feel heavy to move.

Unfortunately nearly all the neruos in the hospital either believes I have no problem and need to "work out and eat more" or come back in a few months because I still don't have true failures... I used to run 400m in the low 50s, and now it takes me so much effort just to climb up a few stairs

Yeah same story here. My tongue has a dent as well on the end.
I am a firefighter, 10 months ago was the fittest on my shift. Now can hardly carry a plate of food to the dinner table.
I was running 20km, now I walk 2 blocks.
But as yet, emg has no active denervation besides fasics.

Yeah EMG may not always be the answer. I actually had an EMG two days ago during my hospital stay, they told me the technician who does the EMG is the best in my province. Yet when she stucked the needles in, all she said was "perfect" and "10 out of 10"... Just so much pain for so little results. Worse that all the neruos relied heavily on the EMG and came to the previous conclusions.
