Hello jasmine,
I saw your message in the forum regarding your offer to support those who also have parents with ALS. Firstly I'm so sorry to hear about your dad - I hope the time you got to spend with him was very special and you managed to make lots of beautiful memories.
My name is Kate - I'm 27 years old, live in Glasgow in Scotland and my mum was diagnosed with progressive bulbar palsy in September last year.
Unfortunately my mum lives near London and it's an 8 hour drive to get to her so I'm struggling to balance my life and helping her as much as I can. I try to fly to be with her once a month but it's difficult.
How was it for you when you cared for your dad? Did you live with him or near him?
I look forward to hearing from someone who can understand.. my friends do not seem to and it feels very lonely sometimes.
Kind regards,
Kate
