  • ALS only affects voluntary motor neurons, not sensory. Other conditions can cause sensory problems. Hope you get into the ALS clinic soon! I'm thinking of you & your husband. You are not alone in this.
    New to this site, husband is trying to get into ALS Cllinic in Augusta, GA. He has had biopsy that showed severe nerve damage in sural nerve as well as moderate muscle atrophy. His EMG/NVC showed "acute muscle disease". Has lost the use of right thumb with considerable weakness in both hands. He chokes on his food and drinks. He has fasculations in arms and legs. MRI clear of no lesions. Does anyone have ALS diagnosis and have sensory issues, too.
