  • Hey, I've had localized twitching in 4 hand muscles for 8 months, no previous trauma. Slightly dirty EMG in these muscles. Is yours at rest? Mine is only when I flex. Seen an ALS specialist. He said you can have very localized BFS though I have not read a single case of such localized twitching in BFS groups.

I hope you get some answers! Isn’t it funny/not funny how we’d prefer even more twitching?

@writingisove definitely follow up with a neurologist. Sorry you were so quickly dismissed on your post. I don’t think it’s supportive or even educated for anyone here to tell you “you don’t have ALS”, although I hope you don’t! Hope you get some answers soon, although neurological issues have a reputation for taking FOREVER to diagnose! Hang in there!

I have PLS, a rare form of ALS. It’s not fatal, but it is disabling. Mine started with left foot drop and not being able to walk on the heel of that foot. It’s now spread up my left side. I’ve now started getting twitching but not in the foot. I have it in my left upper arm and in my buttocks. There’s nothing I do that evokes it or stops it per se. They just kind of have a mind of their own. LOL.
