Thanks for your support .. janine passed

Janine passed away Saturday night after a long battle with MND at the tender age of 39. She has left her stamp on my heart and I will remember her forever. Before she died I was able to pray with her , such a precious time and I am able to let her go as I know she's with Jesus.... John 3 v 16...

thought I should add that the patient is really sick this week, and hubby not coping with kids etc. They have no relations near by to help either. I feel like a Judas at this point - I can see both sides ... and I can see the advantage of a care facility .. if hubby doesn't do something soon he...

How will they hold it together?

yes Cindy that would be a good book to read.. These people held it together until the parents fell apart and took whatever family support they had away from them, from what I understand they got physical with the son in law and the patient had to witness this and not be able to act. They had...

Is there much hope without bipap?

the woman i care for can only move her eyes and is bed ridden. She has a trach and is vented, and has a feeding peg, apparently she could go on for another 6 -10 yrs like this. No life for her family, but she feels she has quality of life cos she can see her kids grow up ...they are under 5...

    Freddie In Hospital!

Nettie remember it's air, water and soil borne ... hubby could have got it via anything and the main thing is, he has been treated and he has you to keep an eye on him. Here , I have copied and pasted this for you , it's a basic understanding of what it...

    Freddie In Hospital!

nettie the nose eyes and mouth advise is for your own safety not hubby's .. We use gloves when suctioning our patient and when emptying the suction bowl, but then I notice that we spread it by contact of door handles , taps etc. I've bound to have put myself at risk many times to be honest...

    Freddie In Hospital!

freddie my patient has psuedomia sp , it's a water, soil and air borne pathogen. It's rife in hospitals, anyone can get it but immune compromised people are more likely to get it. It's a hard one to treat, just make sure you keep yourself safe by wearing gloves etc, keep fingers out of eye's...

How will they hold it together?

Thank you that helped a lot.. they say women are the weaker sex yet time and time again we prove that saying wrong. Yes I agree that us women are more nurturing. The patient is vented and trached like your husband, and they have a 3 & 5 yr old children. Theres no space in the house where they...

How will they hold it together?

My patient is almost 3 yrs into her disease. Things at home are quite bad as there has been a family split, and the husband has had to cope with a lot of things. He has come to breaking point and doesn't know how long he can continue to be there for his wife, he wants her to go into care and she...
