Sadly I’m still obsessing over fasciculations and doubting whether or not the test was done too early or if the specialist made a mistake.

A Tale for the Worried Well

I just discovered that the neurologist who did my evaluation is an ALS specialist in the biggest university hospital in Montreal. I guess she really knows ALS... And still I think but what if she is wrong? Even though she diagnoses and sees ALS patients every day.

A Tale for the Worried Well

Thanks guys! I honestly can’t find words to convey how much respect I have for you. And I’m not just saying this. Your kindness is incredible. You are all an example of strength and pure altruism. I want to donate to this board. Could you tell me how to do this?

A Tale for the Worried Well

I just got a clean EMG. For the last three months, I have spent my days obsessing over the three-letter disease. And I mean obsessing. Spending all my days on forums, Google, all that stuff. Not eating, not drinking. I was 200% convinced I had it. I looked up life insurance, planned to record...

He said my strength was perfect and no atrophy. He said he can’t rule out ALS but that he would not have brought it up if I hadn’t. He said he has never seen someone in his career present with diffuse intermittent fasciculations without weakness or atrophy and progress to ALS especially at 33...

He didn’t feel an EMG was necessary I pushed for it. He thinks my symptoms are due to a pinched nerve in my neck or lumbar spine but he can’t explain the fasciculations. He pretty much said they are not normal but can be benign, same for the reflexes.

In my case I have muscle twitches all over, tremors all over and my legs feel like jelly and often have a burning feeling. My knees are often red like they are sore and they feel weaker and strained. I just came back from the neuro who said I had brisk reflexes but symmetrical and nothing else...

If you’re shaking for a pathological reason I don’t think working out will change a thing but exercise is always good I guess! You should probably mention it to your neurologist. I know you’re depressed right now and believe me I am too but I have read many stories of people thinking they had...

Did your neuro comment on your muscles shaking or has it gone away? I know it’s hard but don’t freak out yet. I have seen many tongue twitchers with BFS. I’m not sure about your hand strength numbers, are they considered normal?
