    CALS Roll Call Continued

Rmt and Tillie, yes I think one of the saddest things for us has been the loss of speech. My husband was always so sociable. He would chat with everyone. When we went to Yellowstone he met everyone he was seated near and knew their names and life stories before I even said hello. What has really...

    CALS Roll Call Continued

It's Wednesday, or as my PALS reminds me, today is laser day. We have had a rough few days. He wanted a high end juicer for his early birthday present (saw it on YouTube). So I bought the juicer and juiced a bunch of fruit and vegetables for him. Sunday, when I have no caregiving support, he...

Husband passed away January 4, 2021

So sorry to hear of Darin's passing. He was so young. I hope you and your children can find comfort in one another. Peace. V

    CALS Roll Call Continued

Got my PALS ready, got the van ready to go, and the elevator is not working and no one can come out until tomorrow. V

    CALS Roll Call Continued

I'll check in again to encourage other CALS to do the same. My PALS' spirits have been low of late. For a long time he was in denial, and I think he's moving past that Kubler Ross stage and is now grieving. His dear friend brought over his "magic" hummingbird feed and set up a feeder outside...

Travel advice for PALS going west

I took my PALS to Yellowstone for his first time a year and a half ago. My PALS was still able to walk short distances with a walker then. It was our last trip together, before we had the PWC (which would have been very helpful as I pushed him with the push chair on all of the trails)...

    CALS Roll Call Continued

Rmt and Donnaelan18 glad to see you here. I agree clinic visits are tiring. I try just to focus the visit on 1 or 2 things. I understand how hard it was to sell the truck. My PALS has a 1976 sports car taking up the only parking space in the garage. It has not run for 24 years. He was in...

    CALS Roll Call Continued

It's Wednesday, so I'm checking in. Hope some of the other CALS will check in too. We are hanging in there, although my PALS is becoming ever weaker. He used to be able to move his right hand/arm but now needs my assistance. I worry that he won't be able to operate his power chair by himself...

    Husband hates BPAP

Renee, when my PALS first started using the Bipap he was very agitated too. The doctor prescribed ativan and we used it the first week. He also did a little cannabis. He got used to it in a week or so when he realized he was finally able to sleep again and became clear headed after being in a...

    CALS Roll Call Continued

Hi Jrzy, good to see you here. I remember you talking about the flipping "Bemer". I'm lucky my PALS tried it and decided not to spend the $6,000. Hugs back your way. V

    CALS Roll Call Continued

Thanks Laurie, supplements have been a lifelong passion. His latest YouTube purchase is the laser hair regeneration cap which I put on his head every other day for 30 minutes. At this point I'm just trying to keep him happy. V

    CALS Roll Call Continued

Glad to see CALS here on this thread again. I'm a long-timer, still a CALS after 5 1/2 years. This month marks 2 years since my PALS started on bipap and began to need very intensive caregiving. My PALS has little functional movement, needs help with all of his personal care, must be fed, and...

    COVID Vaccine

My PALS had his second dose of the Moderna vaccine on Friday. No ill effects at all. I go in on the 10th for my 2nd dose as caregivers now qualify here. Hopefully it will be the same for me. V
