Well, I find this a most unhelpful and hostile forum when mods don't agree with your viewpoint. It's very unfortunate. I wish you all well and am happy for the blessings that you provide for the people that find what they're looking for here. I do not.

Well, I suppose that is a very good suggestion. No need to read that forum if it causes me stress. I will respect that. Just as there is no need for people to read this thread if it causes them stress. And I will hope that people respect that as well.

My husband's aunt, cousin and Mom are the only ones who have gone though the genetic testing out of the family. It is assumed that the rest of the family that has had ALS were also. I wonder if it's possible that they were not though. I need to ask the clinic that question.

Unknowingly, I married into an SOD1 family. Would I had I known? Very good question. Not sure. Would I have had kids the old fashioned way? Probably not. Who knows though. Is it safe to assume that my husband has the SOD1 marker now, yes. We had suspected the disease for about 2 years now...

She will have to use a Hoyer lift eventually whether she likes it or not unfortunately. My aunt was really resistant to any help with lifting or turning. Was awful. We finally had to say fine then you will just have to sit there. she didn't want to use any special seat for toileting either...

Since this IS a public forum maybe I am not the only one who has to deal with it. I have 5 cases of ALS in my family that I am dealing with right now thank you.

Well, just like anybody, I am allowed my opinion also. So telling me to deal with it isn't really all that nice either.
