  • Hi Tracy,
Hope you are healing quickly after your fall. So, sorry to hear about it. Take care, Kim
I had a bad fall yesterday, October 10th. Landed on my left side. Bounced my head on the tile floor 2 times. We live in a small rural community, so we have a volunteer fire department made up of family and friends. So my daughter called one of the wives of one of them and then she brought 2 of the guys. Then 1 more brought the fire truck. They assessed and said off to the hospital you go. So they called in and got an ambulance. So 6 hours later we got home. My left hand is very bruised where I landed on it, goose egg on my head, and a six inch bruise (so far, it keeps growing) on my hip. No broken bones, though it took two sets of xrays to rule out a pelvic break. Now just hobbling around and I type with 2 pencils using the eraser end. Praise the lord for caring friends.
    Hi Tracy,
How are you doing now? Dad is doing ok for now. I have 16 years old who are driving my husband and me absolutely bonkers. They refuse to do anything we ask of them and smart off. We'd love to slap them at time but naturally can't. We try and take their technical devices from them and it seems to work the best. Our youngest who is almost 10 is the sweetest young boy ever. He minds well, does what ever you ask him, gets all A's in school and the best part is he tells me he loves me about 6 X's a day. Take care, Kim
That's a good thing. Let me know how it goes. I can't take flu shots because I'm allergic to something in the formula. It makes me really sick. Last time I ended up in the hospital for 3 days from dehydration.

Hi! How are you doing? My dad is going to be participating in a clinical trial in about three weeks. They want him to have the flu shot in his system for a little while first. He is going to be getting injections under the skin of a drug called Acthar. The drug has been out for a long time but just not starting to be used for ALS symptoms. I'll keep you posted on how dad responds to it. Take care, Kim
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. This forum will be a great place for help. So many people here to help you. Your clinic in Dallas will be a big help too. Stacy, you are in my prayers.
The final diagnosis is ALS. We talked about the two clinical trials they are doing at this time. But I can't afford the time off to goo every week as required by the trials. I'm getting a rollater and handicap placards tomorrow.
You might want to ask Dr. Heitzman about participating in a clincal trail. My sister said there are two new one's out. They are hard to get into so get on the list right away to participate. Let me know what you find out at your appointment. Kim
Stacy, when responding to a post be sure and respond on their site and not yours. When I first started posting, I was answering on my own site. Again, let me know about your appointment and I will be thinking of you.
Glad you joined the forum. It has helped me out so much and it offers so much support. We go to the clinic in Houston. Grew up in the Dallas area but have lived in League City since 1974.
Do you have your private msg turned off? you should be able to accept PMs now.
