Hi I thought I would chime in here. When I was pregnant with my twins I had pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. I could not write, or maneuver anything with my hands and yes they would lock up frequently. So don't stress :). Laura

Thank you I checked it out but didn't see anything regarding positive sharp waves. Did anyone else get these on their emg? I also had low amplitude on my left leg in ncs? NCS and abnormalities common with ALS? Thank you for your time.

I had an emg and I had some nerve issues on ncs and one 1+ positive sharp wave on needle part. What can cause these sharp waves?

Thank you monster for the information regarding tarlov cysts. It seems as though some people get overly annoyed with people who post questions under "Does it sound like ALS?". I don't mean to offend others just having a hell of a time and was reaching out for help.

Thank you for the comments. Have been to 2 neuro's and bith said not ALS but the weak and shaky arms with twitching and stiffness makes me think otherwise. Had EMG with 1 minor abnormality on ncs. Dr who did the emg said could be due to tarlov cysts in spine.

Please if anyone could offer assistance it would be appreciated. Mother of 4 young children and stressed right out. I have stiffness in my back and weak legs with dizziness. Thank you in advance.

Hi Just a question. With ALS is twitching localized to one area or is it widespread? I have full body twitching and having difficulty taking in deep breaths. I can't expand my abdomen. Feels paralyzed. Sound like ALS. Thank you Laura

Actually the doctor who sent me for an EMG is in Dublin with his sick mother. He's not a neurologist but an interventional radiologist. My neuro in the city I live in filed my EMG and that's why she gave me a copy. So not really sure who to go to now. Worried about my symptoms and abnormalities...
