    Bidet that works with commode?

We are almost in your position, so I know just what you mean. I know that the bidet seats, ours is a washlet, all have seat sensors. The sensors are usually at the 4 o'clock or 5:00 position. If you place your hand there, the sprayer function will work because it tricks the seat into thinking...

Astral 150 set up for wheelchair/mobile

It was a breeze! Thank you everyone. I never realized that we would have to purchase the bag for the Astral separately. We just used the bag of our back-up bipap. Also, hubby's chair didn't have hooks. We'll have to look into getting some of those.

Astral 150 set up for wheelchair/mobile

Thank you, Laurie! I think I'm just nervous since we haven't been mobile with the Astral before. We will do a dry run before going out, so all should be fine. Thanks again!!!

Astral 150 set up for wheelchair/mobile

Hi everyone, Sorry if this has been discussed before. My husband is using the Astral 150, and we were shown how to set it up for use at his bedside. This week, we will be going to an appointment to look at augmentative communication options, so we will need to attach it to his wheelchair...

    My husband is dying....

My husband was diagnosed at a very young age. You don't realize the dreams you had for things like retirement until they are taken away. Just know you are not alone.

Bulbar ALS - what will death look like?

Hi Brittany! I just want to chime in about the clinic visits. My husband went in to the clinic until it got to be a bit of an ordeal. Our clinic here in Massachusetts has a home visit program where the nurse practitioner comes to our home for his regular appointments. So, maybe you could...

    Power Chair Broken...again!

Hi Steve, I didn't even ask what parts were ordered. I was more concerned about the loaner chair, at the time. Hubby is making do sitting in a kitchen high-backed chair It seems so odd that there aren't more foot controlled chairs out there. Yes, a back up chair seems necessary. Thanks!

    Power Chair Broken...again!

Just an update. We've had a tech come out to assess things, and the chair needs two parts, both back-ordered. In the meantime, they gave us a loaner with hand controls. I'm glad to have the loaner, but hubby needs foot controls, and has to tilt constantly in order to swallow. So, now I'm...

    Power Chair Broken...again!

Thank you so much, Steve! ...and everyone who replied :) Now, I'll go see if I can pull off a miracle and get the thing running :)

    Power Chair Broken...again!

Hubby's chair is out of order again! This time it's 20AA error, tilt modulator. It's just so frustrating, because the chair goes out without the slightest warning or misuse. He literally only uses it to watch tv and go back and forth to the bathroom. The thing is, it takes Numotion forever...

    COVID Vaccine for caregivers

I totally agree, V! Sadly, here in MA, even my husband, the pals, probably won't be eligible to receive a shot for a month or more. I am immunocompromised as well, but it will be a longer wait, I'm afraid. We're both under 65. We have been getting everything delivered, or we do curbside...

    8111 error on Permobile F3

As a follow up, the tech came out, spent over an hour switching out cables. (I asked them to come out just to get the chair functioning while we waited for the parts to come in because hubby needs that chair.) He wasn't able to find the bad cable, if there is one. What worries me is that the...

    8111 error on Permobile F3

Thanks so much, Steve! I guess we need to get more familiar with the inner workings of his chair. We have a tech coming tomorrow. I'll be sure to get some pointers.

    8111 error on Permobile F3

Thanks, Laurie :) I wiggled the cables, and was able to, at least, move the chair, but now there is a "bad cable" error. Guess I'm on the right track. Still may have to call. I'll update when I can get it solved. What's strange is that all of the wiring seems in excellent shape.
