  • Not much has changed with my fingers, right ring finger is starting to tremor a little, hands seem to be stiff but no worse than before. All my symptoms have remained the same, still very mild atrophy in wrists, knees, hands but it looks like it's maintained the same for months. Now daughter is experiencing symptoms I started with at the age of only 19, and I'm pregnant. It's been since feb since I saw a dr, now we both have appts. How about you, any change ?
Hi Linda! I'm doing about the same. My arm is not hurting as much but I still have the twitching off and on. I was on vacation last week and tried my best not focus on the twitching/symptoms. I have been battling a sore throat and a dry cough off and on for the past few weeks. I'm not sure what that's about? I'm praying it is just allergies. How are you feeling? Did you have a good 4th?

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Kelli
    Kelli,

Yes, God is good all of the time! We have to remember it even when things don't go in the direction we want. I'm celebrating life and so thankful, though, for the great recent news!!

No the test wasn't painful, just a little when they do the repetitive nerve conduction, but even that's not bad. I will be praying for you with your upcoming test and I'm here for you!

    Thank you for the communication!

I am eager to get to the bottom of what is going on with me as it is still causing me anxiety to not know. The constant pain and degeneration of my right hand is deeply concerning to me and no one has answers yet. Still, I am incredibly grateful for the peace of mind from my recent test! That was huge.

As you say, the best thing is to keep moving forward. Being stuck in fear is its own paralysis and not worth it. Believe me, I have spent so much time recently like that.

    Blessings and healing,
    Linda
Hi Linda! I am so happy to hear from you! I have been thinking about you and praying for you. God is so good!! I'm sure your doctor will get to the bottom of what is causing your pain and twitching. Are you twitching all over? I can so relate to the worry you describe. Was the test painful? My nerve conduction study and EMG is not until August 9 so I have a ways to go. I'm about the same. Twitching, pain in left arm and hand and hypnic jerks. I woke up with a sore throat this morning. That made me start stressing. I was off work today so I made myself get up and do something productive to get my mind off of it. I'm happy to say that it worked. :)
Well, THANK GOD in every way! I had a good test and all came back in good limits! She sent me for x-rays of my hand and ankle to check on possibilities of what could be causing the pain. I have been under so much stress I can't even tell you how I have been worried and I a so thankful! Thank you for your prayers! I just have to believe this and stay fixed on believing as the symptoms and pain are still there. I really want to get to the bottom of what is going on - the hand pain and lack of dexterixity in that hand still concerns me and I want answers as to what is causing it. I am still twitching too and I truly wish that would stop. I have to be very, very, very grateful and I am for these results! I am so extremely grateful I can't even say. As you well know, going through this is so stressful, but it made me appreciate life at a level I never could have comprehended possible. I am here for you. Please let me know how you are doing!
Hi Linda! I hope you've had a good day. You have been on my mind all day. Praying all goes well for you tomorrow and you receive good news. Please let me know how it goes.
Hi, Kelli! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. They are so deeply appreciated. I am glad you read the BFS site - it is a wealth of information that may explain some things to help you. There are so many great people on there. The ABOUT BFS site is excellent but not taking new members - you can still read through so much good information. The BFS RECOVERY site is taking members and I recommend you check that one out. People will engage in meaningful ways with you who do understand.

My big concern is this hand with pain and the noticeable atrophy with twitching - it has me so concerned.

I receive your prayers and will pray for you, too.

    Blessings!
    Linda
This experience is maddening. Just maddening. I read some on the BFS forum last night and plan to read more tonight. I am also going to look over the anxiety site too.
I don't think I mentioned that I have been experiencing Hynic jerks every single night since my headache started in November? I mentioned it to the neuromuscular neurologist but he shrugged it off as hypic jerks. He also shrugged off the twitching. He runs a neuropathy clinic as well as an A#% clinic (sorry I don't like to type or say that word) so he sees it all the time. I told him if he suspected this terrible disease, that he needed to be up front with me so I could mentally prepare myself. He kind of smiled and said he doubts it.
Good Morning Linda! Good luck on Thursday! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Are they doing the EMG on the upper and lower limbs or just the upper where you are having problems? I agree with you, it seems like there is some other ache, twitch or pain that heightens my anxiety. This week, my throat on the right side is sore. And has been twitching a little. I can still drink, chew and swallow but it feels like I have "stuff" in my throat. I am praying that it is just my allergies. I'm having to clear my throat a lot.
Thank you, Kelli! You are welcome. Ok we are close to the same age. I had a pretty good day. I'm just concerned that my twitching has moved into the arm where I'm having pain and some issues. I've had to talk to myself today!

My EMG is Thursday and you can imagine that is on my mind.

I hope you had a good day, too! I really am glad you are going to check out the resources... I know they will help tremendously.

I can relate to the new symptom issue! Last night my ankle and shin were hurting so bad I put arthritis cream on and took ibuprofen. Took it easy not walking much today to try to rest it. I have felt something has been haywire about every other day recently. The Anxiety Centre talks about "containment" of anxiety and that has really helped me recently. Let me know what you think if you read it.

    Blessings!
    Linda
Hi Linda! I hope you've had a great day. Thank you so much for the support and the information. You are such a blessing. I will definitely read up on everything. I turned 48 in March. So that coupled with all that I am going through has really scared me. It seems like I have a new symptom every day. How have you been feeling?

    Thanks again! :)
    Kelli
There is also a Facebook page dedicated to BFS Recovery which is run by the same group and provides more immediate exchange and support.

As I told you, I am here for you. Please let me know if you check out what I have suggested and let me know how you are doing. You can do this! You will get through. Focus on each day as it comes and try to get outside, spend time with people and try to not google ... I know it is hard.

    Blessings,
    Linda
