  • Just wanted to say that I, like all of us here are hoping and praying that you will end up with anything other than ALS! So good to read your optimistic thread! Keep us posted.
I must admit, testing the first interosseus muscle is a very clever thing to do!You have a smart neuro without doubt. What were the exact findings.I still hope they are wrong.I wish I could believe mine are right.
    Hi Bachster,
How did your EMG go? I was curious to know what the Dr said. The reason I ask is because you have not mentioned positive sharp waves or fibs on any of your EMG's. I have been told that your EMG MUST show these specific findings for ALS so please help me to understand, on what basis are all these Drs telling you, its probably ALS? (Which, we all hope its not)!
    Thanks
Sounds like an OK report. What exactly was the abnormality? Mine showed one too. They did not say you have ALS though, right? They couldn't have with that info. Please remind me Bachster. I have been wondering why you suddenly disapeared. I just thought no news is good news, but did not want to run you off. Glad you came back for support.
Hello Bachster, I have had a similar progression to you with my symptoms but am yet to be given a dx. How did the EMG go if you don't mind me asking? My GP is referring me to another Neuro and I just began to notice fasciculations a few days ago...I hope that you received better news than what your previous neuros suspected, none of the docs I've seen thus far have even speculated about what I might have, they just kep telling me what I don't have.
Bachster, My third Emg is tomorrow. I hope you are doing well, and noticed you haven't been active since the 3rd. Write back, let me know you are OK.
Bachster, I'm right there with you.My third EMG is coming up, I think on the 14th. I am hoping to get some concrete answers. I wish the best for you.
Thanks FarFromHome. I hope for the best for you, as well.

My current neuro is an expert and I have no reason to doubt his ability to interpret my results. He's seen the results of my first two EMGs, and will call me after he gets the results of this next one (he won't actually perform the EMG; it will be done by at the U of MN by an experienced EMG technician (doctor?).
Hi, Sorry that you are going through any of this and I hope it turns out to be something else!
Was anything detected on the EMG? Perhaps you can post your EMG results and Wright (who is an EMG expert can help).
I will check into this. It can't hurt. I served four years in the Navy from 1980-1984.

    Thanks!
If you have 90 days active duty, you qualify for VA benefits. The VA granted blanket coverage. Check into it. The benefits are well worth it. It doesn't have to be in a period of war. We believe it has something to do with the shots given when you go in. HUGS Lori
