  • Kim,
It would be great if you could get a name for me. They are trying to get me in to the Baylor clinic at Dallas. But they are also calling the one in Houston to see who can take me quicker. I have atrophy in my left hand with pinching weakness. The right hand has hardly any atrophy but weakness between thumb and first finger also. EMG showed fibs and poly in my right thigh but I have no large amount of weakness. Just need a hand hold to balance when I get off the floor. I just turned 50 last month. I've had cramps for at least a year, though those have stopped and I just have twitches randomly all over.

Any name you can get me would be great.

Thanks Kim, yes we are thanking our lucky stars that things weren't worse because they could have been. It is just maddening that we have only had the truck a week today. Its not even registered yet, still waiting on the title. I told the police that when they run the plates it will show as our acadia. Holy cow. What a day.

I am sorry you are struggling so hard. Things seem to hardly ever go the way we want. Hopefully soon things will get better. Love ya. Vicki
Hi Kim, sounds like your Dad will be well taken care of near your brother's place, though I know you'll miss him. Have you thought about using skype to talk to him?
I am so sorry and will miss you terribly. I hope you reconsider and still come and pm your friends. I love you girlfriend.
Hi, I live about 3 hours from Dallas. My ALS doctor is in Dallas so we have been making the long drive a few times in the past several months.
Oh, my goodness...I'm so sorry. And, I am glad your father is still doing well. Forgive me.
alright, skip...yep, keep youself busy.......an oppertunity to start things anew....just give yourself the push needed and life can take you anywere...god bless, johnny
Thanks for checking in My husbands kid, or at least 2 of them were up here from Texas, so we sat in the driveway and fired off woosy legal fireworks. Friends coming from France the second week of August, and the construction on the handicapped master suite is back in full swing after all our rain. Looking forward to not have to wobble to the existing bath.

I do not think she was referring to you particularly in any way at all.

I do think what she meant was that as long as she can help somebody in need (a PALS or a CALS) she isn't bored at all even when 10 newbies ("twitchers") would be starting threads at DIHALS Sub-Forums.

Helping people in need (such as PALS) doesn't bore her and shouldn't bore anyone else either.
She also explained that if these people (newbies) are bothering you can safely ignore them.

That's what I understood from reading her post as she wasn't referring to you in any way.

    Take care.

    Hi Kim,
I'm three weeks into a knee replacement and I'm ahead of the recovery curve. I have to watch to make sure I don't overdo the physical therapy. The floors are in and are beautiful... I'm waiting for the furniture now! I don't intend to return to teaching as I have no desire to put up with the current policies. I may start working with the VA so others don't have to go through what Rog did.
I'm sorry about the divorce, it's never easy... Be kind to yourself, I hope your new therapist helps you through this! I'm glad to hear that your dad is stable for the moment.
    Keep me posted!
    Hugs,
    Jen
Hello Kim, good to hear from you. I am glad your Dad seems to be doing well. He will find that chair to be a lifesaver. As for me, I am doing fairly well. My legs continue to grow weaker. I can barely take a step or two and then only with help. I have had a couple more falls, spraining my right ankle and then later my left. Can't trust either of my legs anymore. I can be standing and one of my legs might just fold up without warning so I try to be very careful. But the good news is that every thing else seems to be ok. so far. Take care. Sherry
