  • Has anyone heard of spinal cord AV Fistula or have any insight for me. Drs are checking into this as a possibility for my husband.
    Its not als! :)

I will continue to pray for those with this, asking God to restore, rescue, comfort, bring peace in the knowledge of HIM!

I wished there was more I could say, to take this away!

I am so sorry you are going through this :(
    Hi Shar
Most pals will tell its progressivly worse, but in my case, it wavers everyday. Some days I can talk understandbly and some not. Some days I can walk better then others and some not. It wavers from hour to hour. Sometimes day to day.

    Hi Shar
I seen many many Drs before I was sent to UWMC, including several neurologists. I was told I had everything but what I actualy had. The dr you will be seeing at VM is DR John Ravits. Hes ok but I did prefer UWMC. Dr Ravits may be able to diagnose on the first visit but that depends on several different things. There are varients to als, including pls as well as Upper motor neuron dominate als. All the drs I have seen agree on 1 thing only. I have one of these 3 things. I currently walk with a walker and my speech is almost unintelligible. I will have been sick 5 years on Oct 1st of this year. I would be happy to answer any questions I can for you.
Hello, Can anyone answer a few questions for me? First my husband Gary 53 yrs old has gone to 3 neurologists, the first one said he saw some minor back issues in the mri but nothing that is relating to his symptoms, he didn't say anything regarding als, we went for a second opinion because he still could not walk well, drop foot and loss of strength in his right leg, second dr ordered a conductivity test from 3rd dr, 3rd dr said he cant find anything wrong with nerves, it looks to him like als but going to send you up to V.M. for a second opinion so that is where we are at now, waiting.... so my question is do you think they will be able to diagnose him in one visit with information of 2 mri's of the back and 1 of the brain and the conductivity test or do you think this will take other tests and do you know what those tests are?
