  • Hi Sequoia!!
How are you? Today I added some pictures I would like to share with you. Our sons got married. One was in September and the other was in November. Now we are going to be grandparents!! Yes...a honeymoon baby!! :) Our son Stephen and Wendi just told us the news! :)
Hope dex is still going well for you. Has your new room worked out well for you these past few months? How is your breathing? Hope all is well with you on this glorious Sunday!
    Hi Sr. Sharon,
Happy Thanksgiving to you. My dad is going to be coming home either this coming up Wednesday or Thursday to stay for awhile. We have a family friend who has moved into my dad's house and has agreed to be his full-time caretaker. My husband and I will also help out as often as we can as well . I haven't seen dad since Labor day so I'm very anxious to see him. Hugs to you, Kim
Yes! Thank you again! This is such a complicated disease so sharing and learning on this forum are so helpful. I read some of your Happiness Now thread. You have an incredible spirit!
I'm so glad you got dex! Last update on your thread was 10-14 and I'm hoping you have no side effects now that you're a month in. How do you feel it's going on the drug?
Thank you Sequoia! I'm the one from Jodi's FB page that was looking for a forum like this and you recommended it to me. :)
Wow..that is great Sharon. 99 I mean. Is the dex helping at all. I'm fine. Larrys doing ok. Hes frustrated but I can understand why.
We are having a new roof put on our house. My sons are helping to save us money. Boy I love those boys.
    Well Sharon. You take care.
    love Cherie
    Hi Sr. Sharon,
My dad just went for a check-up Friday at the ALS clinic. His issues lately have been with his hands and his arms are getting weaker. He uses a bi-pap just at night and they did say his breathing has improved. He is still rail thin but he has gained 71bs. He still can eat by himself and has a great appetite. However, because he can't use all his fingers someone has to cut his food and he drops things. He was denied getting into a clinical trial due to his hand issues and other things. But, they said he will be getting some type of medicine that is supposed to slow progression in December. Dad is coming home in a few weeks for at least awhile. Take care and you'll be in my prayers. Love, Kim
Hi Sharon, thinking of you so often and wondering how you are feeling. Thank you for shining you light!
    Hi Sr. Sharon,
Hope you are having a good week so far. We are big St. Louis Cardinal baseball fans so we are enjoying watching them play right now. We are hoping they win the World Series again this year. We can dream can't we? I don't know the name of the trial dad is trying to get in. I'm sure my sister does though. When he finds out more I'll let everyone know if he gets in and which one it is. Sending you a hug, Kim
Did anyone start with severe burning down the cervical spine for weeks? Also does anyone have dry eyes and dry mouth. Going to clinic tomorrow for another visit. Still no diagnosis, but have had the weakness, atrophy and stiffness in the neck and swallowing problems for four months.
    Hi Sister Sharon,
Hope your weekend is going well. We are great fans of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team so we are hoping they make it to the World Series. Our youngest son just got back from visiting my dad in Dallas and had a great time. My dad's progression seems to be at a standstill right now and we are praying it stays that way. He is waiting to see if he will get to partcipate in a trial or not. He was supposed to find out this past week but now they said he will be another 10 days. He's getting anxious waiting to find out one way or the other. Hugs to you, Kim
    Sister Sharon,
Was thrilled to see that you will be getting the Dex now. Will be keeping you in my prayers. Kim
I am so happy to read about the Dex, wow! Thinking of you so often with
    great gratitude! Much love, Jayne
