Top 3 dumb things I've heard lately

The home health agency sent over a new aide. She was a doctor in the Philippines working for the agency until she passed the medical boards. on her first night here while observing my paralyzed leg she commented "oh, but you will get better". I asked how many neurology courses. She took in med...

    "Corrupt a wish" game

Granted, it's not all that out of the ordinary. Many of us have shared this sentiment; we just didn't post it. I wish there really were mermaids like Daryl Hannah

    Renaming THAT form

If it is possible all new threads in that forum should require checking several of those annoying "I accept the terms" checkboxes. For instance: yes I have read all of the stickies. Yes I have seen a doctor. Yes I have had a second opinion by a qualified neurologist. Etc.

    Medicaid Planners

These companies will tailor a plan to make you eligible for Medicaid per your states rules. Usually it is an income-based qualification. However here in Massachusetts you can qualify if you spend six months of income on medical care. Although it sounds like a good plan , there are still...

    Renaming THAT form

the forum named "do I have ALS" has a simple well-intentioned name. Advancements in search engine technology now allow typing every day English ( or other) questions into the Search box and away you go. Top of the list – that forum. I'm suggesting a new name and including a poll.

    What kind of TV

Something's to think about: remote control – can you press button's today? Next month? Some of the TV features may require a second person to operate. I have an exercise bike, but thought it was ill advised to use it ... should I go bac

If it is something you enjoy then continue, but sensibly. Realize that you have limits. Although walking was difficult , I could still ride a bicycle. I had to stop when one leg could not support my weight, I collapsed onto a parked car when I put one foot down at a stop sign. I had the strength...

    scary night...ALS or something else?

I have also experienced the uncontrollable shivering. That was before the anti-anxiety medication, however, I still get shivering cold even in warm rooms, but that is fixed with blankets.

    Power wheelchair- head control

Using the head control isn't easy but with practice it gets a very, very little bit easier. Now to get through door ways remember the chair went through doorways in the past. The problem arises because you keep shifting focus from left-sided clearance to right-sided clearance. Simply pick a side...
