Well not happy with the changes..lol So far my legs are the worst.. My arms are getting difficult to lift. My hands from my elbow to fingers are super strong rated a 5. My doctor said that sometimes ALS skips some muscles so hoping my hands won't be affected. Thanks for all the advice.. It's diffiult because there is no manual and no real instructions of what to do.. so this site has been very helpful.

Just so glad to know the sit to stand is giving a new lift. Sending hugs.

I did it!!! Sit to stand works great!!! My fear is gone. I also got a butt sling so it gives me an extra push up... you can stand or just sit in the butt sling while being transferred.

I haven't been able to stand yet.. no one came to show us how to operate. My sister is coming over tomorrow and I will give it a shot..I watched some you-tube video for instructions...I got 1/2 way up and got scared.

I just got it and will try it tomorrow. My sister did a test run for me and she liked it but she doesn't have ALS.. I was able yo stand for 1 minute today with the help of physical therapist. They are coming to give me therapy at home and involving the entire family. If your son can still bear at least 65% of his body weight then this is good. Talk to Jake he is very informative. I am 44 and was diagnosed last year. Sorry to hear about your son. I have also found that transfer boards are helping me transfer from the wheel chair to the shower chair. Jake gave me a free one and it has worked great.

i believe going with your gut is the best thing anyone can do . do you like the sit to stand ? , my son turned 39 today and i think that sit to stand he will like can you send me a web site on it

Hi I am new here. I am looking at purchasing a lift machine. It's called a sit to stand. I have problems getting up from my wheelchair, and bed. Does anyone have one?
