  • Hi Randy, It was really good to see your videos the other day--Sue seems very nice, and you both did so well in speaking for the camera! But, are you totally unable to feed yourself now? If so, I'm very sorry. I know that's coming for me. Well, in most things (unless pain is involved!) the reality is easier than the anticipation. God bless you. Love, Ann
So glad the PT got your cushion fixed correctly, Randy. Yeah! We have the same model--After a while with it feeling right, you'll have an easy time fixing the distribution if your normal tilt changes to a different one. It's so hard to be left without expert help and a new chair--that happened to me. I had no clue how to fix things. The only time I haven't been able to make the seat comfortable (with this current cushion and chair) is when my posture collapsed, causing the slump. That led to far less time out of bed after reading some posts by others in that situation. I am comfortable, thanks! Have a great weekend--nice and easy.
So sorry about your lungs! Yes, too much of anything--visitors, excitement or stress, and physical movement is hard--a big payback to catch up. Randy, they've decided to send out two aides instead of the one. I really like them. My (loaner) shower chair would fit a man of 7 feet tall--the deepest seat you ever saw. I have an air-filled donut behind my back during the shower, but it has to be removed to get the sling around me. The two women together once a week is perfect right now. No need for the carwash!

Hope your chest and breathing ease up very soon. Hugs--Ann
Hi Randy, I saw your post about the sling used on the bidet and want to encourage you--I thought exactly the same thing, but lately (and I'm much weaker), I'm often positioned correctly. Needed to sit back further than seemed right, as well as face front better. Don't despair... it's one of the few things that has actually grown easier, so is a total surprise. Hope your day is a good one. Love, Ann
Randy, I'm sorry you had to see your stuff divided up this way. I drove away from nearly all my stuff by wheelchair and don't see it. My rug wool is here, and I give it to my rug hooking buddies any time I can--loads left. But, it is nice you saw your sons.

Aide still can't handle my sling in the showering chair alone, but is on vacation this coming week. I'll speak to my girlfriend/caregiver about being "on call" tomorrow morning. Now, she is good! She doesn't shower me but is highly efficient. I am delighted you have such a caring and gentle aide. My RN is very good, and she always works with this same aide. I expect this to be cleared up one of these days :)
    Love.
    Ann
I have a netbook which is ligt and small, and my fingers have very good dexterity, so mostly that's what I use. The old laptop is pretty heavy in comparison. But more and more I am finding my biceps need a rest, and so I am experimenting with using a small trackball mouse and the programme Dasher which allows you to write anything at all with just the mouse. Slow, but my arms enjoy the break very much. There is a thread by rcharlton about the limitations of iPads when it comes to accessing alternative ways to enter text. Its an interesting read.
Hard to be too graphic on a thread about nakedness I reckon! Aids are indeed a blessing. Are you using any new ways of accessing the keyboard Randy?
Hello Randy, have we said Hi before? I'm shocking at remembering everyone here on the Forum. I decided mute silence was the best response to your addition to the "Naked Truth" thread! Just wanted to say hi to a compatriot - I guess you are in the same showering routine?
    roderick.
What beautiful children! So, they're your grandchildren? Good job!!! I hope you are doing well and it looks like you have many to entertain you. ; ) Take care Sweets!!! Have a good evening.
    Hi Randy
I didnt see the show, but thanks for the link. I will have to check it out.
Music as always been the backbone in my life. would truly die without it.
Randy, our dinner was a salad...thought I'd never get it into my mouth. I attacked it with both spoon and fork. I'd find a way to dip those fries in catsup if I had to use my nose to do it, lol. Your dinner sounds great. Yes, it's tough having people notice our progression, even if they say nothing--you recognize the look.
Randy, I hope you get a Bipap and are helped, even finding it easy to get used to. I also have trouble bringing the fork/spoon to my mouth (which wants to be on a slant, further complicating things)--I remember some time ago you had asked Sue for pick up foods, but that's hard to sustain full time. The changes are always trying, aren't they...
