Sadiemae It all depends on the state and whether or not PDN (Private Duty Nursing) is Medicaid approved in that state. For example in NC PDN pay is comparable to other Home Health, hospice and LTAC salaries. That's is a lot of the reason for a support group there is a lot of info out there...

Lina, What state does your loved one live in? There is also Private Duty Nursing available dependig on the state in which you live that can be covered by private insurance, VA if they are a veteran, and Medicaid. But again it depends on your state each have different clinical qualifications...

Not spam at all. I work with trach/vent patients everyday many who have ALS. The biggest question we get asked is how or where does the money come from for these patients to be taken care of at home. I am just offering our knowledge on the subject to help others.
